Fantastic fountain pen. Compact when closed, full size and perfectly balanced
with the cap posted. Nib is extremely smooth and flexes enough for effortless
writing. Add a converter and the ink of your choice to make it yours.
I give this pen 5 stars... it has one of the thinnest nibs in my collection (and
I'm a big EF fountain pen fan), writes reliably, and has a good feel to it. It's
a bit lightweight for me, since I prefer a heavier pen--but that's not a fault
of the pen, just a personal preference, and I knew this would be a lighter pen
when buying it. The cap taking up 3/4 of the overall length when capped takes a
little getting used to, but I think it's one of this pen's more defining
features.
A great pen and a smooth writer, but the ink tends to leak out from the top of
the nib where it connects to the body when pressed down on, so you cant grip the
pen too low. I did a google search and I'm not the only one with the issue. Most
people shouldn't have a problem with this, but those who hold their pen low will
have to readjust their grip. Other than that, it's a great lightweight pen that still feels very balanced,
and the cap is very satisfying to take on and off, while still feeling very
secure. What I mean by that is there is no clicking or twisting, the cap just
slides on perfectly because the two pieces fit so well together. The nib has the
slightest bit of flex, and feels absolutely wonderful when writing.
This is an amazing little pen. I was drawn to it because of the novel nib. I
didn't realize until after ordering it that it was similar to my Kaweco Al
Sport, with the long cap and the pocket-fitting size. This Pilot is kind of a
cheap looking plastic pen, not nearly as sturdy or rich looking as my Kaweco or
my decimo, but boy, that nib! It is smoother than my decimo and really quite
attractive. Am very happy that I got it.
Love this pen. This is my 2nd gold nib Pilot and like the other EF nib it’s a
bit scratchy in a good way and is a dream to write with. Ink flows evenly and
easily. The size is great for me with or without posting but I do have smaller
hands.
This Pilot Elite is a beautiful pen and it writes very smoothly. Unfortunately,
though the nib is supposed to be Extra fine, it’s not. I’ve got a Pilot
Petit 1 pen in fine nib and there isn’t any difference whether I write with
the Elite or the Petit. Writing with the nib upside down is the only way I can
get this pen to write Extra Fine. Very frustrating !!!
